The wildlife where we live (Images from the jungle)

Here are some videos and photos of wild life in the region where I live. These different species of plants and animals seriously - just live next to my house and often have been found  near by. I really love this about living in the jungles of Peru. Just the amazing variety - the wild life, the plant life. The whole thing actually.

Here are just some amazing creatures that I have stumbled across - and luckily had a camera to capture.

(A unique Butterfly perching on our house plant, Lamas, San Martin, Peru)

(A gorgeous spotted butterfly resting at the fresh water pool - Lamas, San Martin, Peru)

(A nest of wild stingless bees making their home on the trunk of a tree - close to our house - Lamas, San Martin, Peru)

(A new little pineapple - on our neighbour's land - Lamas, Peru)

(My partner Jesus - breaking off a cacao pod to take home - at home, Lamas, Peru)

(The fun plant that closes when you touch it - there are plenty of these where we live)

(A giant grass hopper is exploring my partner's arm at the fresh water pool, Lamas)

( A humble harvest - fresh mandarins and a cacao pod - Lamas, Peru)

(A gorgeous Yellow Iris close to our previous home in San Roque, San Martin)

( I have never seen flowers like these - they came out of the trunks of seemingly dry trees that were lifeless just earlier. San Roque, San Martin)

(Crossing the amazon) - on the way from Tarapoto to Lagoon Azul
